The Department of Surgery is an integral and essential department of the Homoeopathic Medical College, dedicated to imparting comprehensive knowledge and clinical understanding of surgical sciences to undergraduate students. The department functions in accordance with the curriculum prescribed by the concerned regulatory authorities and aims to develop competent homoeopathic physicians with sound surgical knowledge and clinical skills.

The department focuses on teaching the principles and fundamentals of surgery, including surgical pathology, diagnosis, management of common surgical conditions, minor surgical procedures, pre-operative and post-operative care, emergency management, and medico-surgical ethics. While emphasizing the role of Homoeopathy in patient care, the department also trains students to identify conditions requiring surgical intervention and appropriate referral.

Academic activities of the department include regular theory lectures, clinical demonstrations, bedside teaching, seminars, case presentations, group discussions, and practical training through Outpatient Department (OPD) and hospital-based clinical exposure.
